Running for a cause

Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani might be situated on the shifting fringes of the Thar Desert. But, the vision of Shri GD Birlaji and subsequent efforts have resulted in BITS Pilani campus being a lush green campus.

So, the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) held a run through the less frequented parts of the campus to increase awareness about not only being closer to nature but also how to stay green for maximal returns in business.

Senior faculty members including Prof Arya Kumar ( the Chief of Entrepreneurship Development and Intellectual Property Rights Unit at BITS Pilani), two Deans also participated in the event.

A modest running field of about 50 were encouraged and egged upon by their supporters and spectators.

As I am penning this down, the second session by Mr Sunil Handa on Entrepreneurship is on as a part of two day long Workshop on Entrepreneurship.

He was worth Rs 600 crores when he started teaching at IIM Ahemdabad! He enthusiastically telling me "Tum toh CEL wale ho, dhanda karna, logon ko naukri dena!" (You being from CEL should definitely start-up, be a job provider) shall always remain with me.
