Its finally out!!! Soltec, a team of two young to-be-engineers has finally conquered Conquest 2007. These guys from VIT Pune faced stiff competition from NUS Singapore's Transtrack who finished second. Teams from BITS pilani, ITM Mumbai and IIT Madras had to be content with the coveted finalist Conquest 2007 tag.
The idea that brought Soltec glory (and not to forget a cheque of Rs 60,000) is a product. Isn't that music to your ears? It is so reassuring to find a product based company thrashing stiff competition from other brilliant teams to win. Soltec plans to manufacture stick-on solar chargers for your mobile devices starting with cell phones.
I am obsessed with products based start-ups and had blogged about it as well. Conquest 2007 also had big names like Amit Ranjan (of slideshare.net fame), Manish Vij, Ashmeet Sidana coming down making it all the more worthwhile. But, yeah Nakul thanks for the Delhi trip.
