Like Rachit said in the previous post, we are all very excited and enthusiastic about the new process-project work flow at CEL. Let me briefly share some of the interesting features that I believe will contribute a lot of value to the system:
1. Clearly defined roles and responsibilities: Every activity and project at CEL is given some shape in terms of what would be the basic responsibilities of the role and what does CEL as a whole expect from the people filling these roles. This might be the umpteenth time I might be saying this, but i strongly believe that any relationship works only when two criteria are satisfied:

This might be the umpteenth time I might be saying this, but i strongly believe that any relationship works only when two criteria are satisfied:
- The other person feels that you are important. That's when he will get into a relationship with you.
- The other person feels he is important in the relationship and to you. That's when he will stay on the team and continue giving inputs.
I think the new model goes a long way in strengthening the second aspect while the first was always inbuilt at CEL.
2. Unique Project-Team linking: I am sorry if people are blaming the new system for not allowing them to officially be working for more than one project, but I believe it is absolutely necessary in the initial stages atleast for you to develop a sense of ownership (man, Anaand... you were right!) and a sense of belonging with the team they are working with. At the end of the day, how much passion and fire you breathe into your project is always directly correlated with the degree of association you share with the project. It's your project and it's only yours... cruise ahead guys!
3. Better Coordination: We have talked about it a lot. Maintaining database to coordinate our outreach, plan our resource requirements and have a method to share learning experiences between projects. But now that someone is accountable for these things at CEL and someone gets to see how beautiful/ugly things turn out to be because of his ideas, strategies and implementation I guess the motivation to bring alive these processes is all the more. Also with each area of activity [Finances, Sponsorship, PR, Logistics, Netoworks] being completely overseen by an individual coordinating our efforts should be easy (We're hoping so...). And finally, a 1 hour DOT, boost-meet (will blog about what a boost meet is sometime...) every sunday should bring in some strength to intra-CEL knowledge sharing.
4. In/Out Process: Freedom was the mantra behind the way in which activities and duties were evolved. We are just adding a bit of direction to that before giving complete freedom to the new recruits at CEL. We are having a project in and project out process for how a new member is taken into a project or how he exits. In both these cases, the primary focus is on how a new member gets the hang of the project in terms of not just info but also about team dynamics and learning experiences they have had. Yea, a meet or two will have to be scheduled exclusively to this by the relevant project, but we believe its worth it! About CEL recruitment... more about it later... Frankly, no clear ideas as of now.
5. Senior Team Members: When I say senior, I am really meaning senior. I am referring to faculty and alumni who will be involved in ONE CEL project which they would like to join and work with the team. We have 4 avenues for how this would work out [CEL Website, email groups, CEL Wiki page & our very own CEL Blog - efactor]. Also as senior members of the team, we sincerely hope that you help us improve CEL and the way projects are run. However, we kindly request you to let the final decision on issues concerning CEL projects to rest with the student team. We believe that way, mistakes committed will become a part of the learning curve of the students. Also it will go a long way in strengthening their belongingness in the team.
And yea, Conquest has a new team, a new Coord and Joint coord... It has been another unforgettable experience with Conquest. Personally, every Conquest has brought something so new, so radical which has changed my thought process. Last Conquest brought with it an insight into the Joy and Motivation for starting up your own dream. And now that I am in the waters, this Conquest has brought in loads of experience, contacts and ideas that will cling to me for a long time to come...
To the new Conquest team and everyone - All the very best guys! Keep shining.
