And behind every object of quality is a not-so-obvious 'sieve'. The Sieve that differentiates. That refines. That catches the creme de la creme.
No matter where you see quality, you just have to dabble around to spot the sieve.
- The IITs and BITS or any other top University for that matter take pride in quoting their acceptance rates. JEE/BITSAT: There's the sieve.
- Google is touted to be the biggest success of recent years. And the sieve lies in their hiring policy.
- Research Institutes receive funding and make it big because of the big names on board. Their fellowship policy stands as the sieve.
If you did spot a common thread in the three illustrations, you are almost there!
Well, the crux of the sieve in any organization is to refine its human capital - their intellect, their smartness, their ability to 'get work done'. The best of organizations are built by a small group of great, fecund minds.
All the drivel was just a buildup to introduce one more ongoing activity at CEL of evolving a skeletal framework for selecting a group of youth for an entrepreneurial activity. The framework will also be further developed and tested(!)as a recruiting policy for CEL. More on this, in coming weeks.
Ha....how can I forget ?!
