something that doesnt happen in our schools and hence from our childhood..teaching how money works.yes, we are taught that if we get good grades, we earn good salary, good perks so on and forth.the problem is this, we are and have always been taught to become good employees not good employers.we are taught to be more well read , and encouraged to become more intelligent w.r.t watever our line of education, inorder to earn more money.wat we are never taught is that a good entrepreneur is one who employs people more intelligent than him.simple words above and i know many people around me who will dismiss the above with dismissive shrug of shoulders. i also know that these very people, including me, will pass on the same kind of ideas, that were learn to the next generation.
as a child, u can learn things very quickly, languages, maths, grammar , for me it was more of bad words, abuses(hehe to that!).the point i will eventually arrive at and have arrived now is the question of how little financial education children get at home and also at school.
oprah winfrey said once(amen to her, will not listen to any abuses against her!) that u CANNOT hide any family situation from ur children, that is if u are doing bad financially or for that matter doing the exact reverse,it always helps to involve the children right from the beginning.you cannot become a maverick of sorts, not with money, if it is not imbibed in you from the start, that is from your childhood.
books like "rich dad , poor dad", "who stole my cheese" all deal with money, its power and its potentials.rich dad, poor dad is an interesting book and highly recommendable.the author deals with 2 imp men in his life, his real dad who stressed on the imp of education, specializtion and also a career, while the other "dad", his friend's dad who while stressing on education spoke about "sniffing"opportunities and using the mass on top of our shoulders all the time."use this"he says tapping the author's head all time."think" and u can always find a new way."who stole my cheese" is another such book using mice as protoganists and expounds upon the above line.
the above idea of making children aware happens , mostly , irrefutably in rich families.closer home i would like to deal with a fascinating, often much abused (for the right reasons or not)class of people , the marwaris.this section of people dont work for money, they make money work for them.
